How to select a bouquet

The easiest way to select a bouquet is to envision how it will complement the recipient's décor and the occasion you're celebrating. Be sure to select a color palette and size that you think will best match what's going on in their life--or even better, choose a bouquet filled with their favorite hues.

For birthdays and anniversaries, we recommend sending a bright bouquet to accentuate the good vibes. For housewarmings and dinner parties, we love the inviting hues of pastel bouquets (including a vase is a great idea so the host or hostess will have a beautiful place to display it upon arrival). For get-well gifts or to send thoughtful wishes, we recommend bouquets filled with vibrantly colored blossoms.

How to care for a bouquet

Upon arrival, trim the stems by cutting 1-2 inches off the bottom at a 45-degree angle with a sharp knife or scissors. Remove leaves below the waterline to give the stems a nice, clean look.

Take a few moments to remove any bruised or wilted guard petals on the outside of the flowers. This will reveal the true beauty of the blossoms underneath and will allow the flowers to continue to bloom in your home.

Fill a vase with fresh, clean water enriched with the included flower food packet. Be sure to change the water every 2-3 days and rinse the vase with hot water each time to remove any bacteria. Every time you change the water, re-cut the stems at a 45-degree angle to help the flowers absorb water better. This will help your fresh cut flowers stay beautiful and vibrant for longer.

How to style a bouquet

The possibilities are endless when it comes to displaying a bouquet! This is a terrific opportunity to use your creative skills and have fun with your fresh cut flowers.

The most classic way to style a bouquet is to display it in a vase with layers of blooms facing the open room. Since a bouquet is a classic gathering of complementary flowers, you'll be able to select which blooms take center stage.

This also means that you have the freedom to display smaller groups of flowers together. Whether you choose to display flowers in your own smaller vases around the room or utilize a modern segmented vase ( Farmhouse Serpentine Bottle Vase, anyone?), there are infinite ways to display a bouquet to add beauty and charm to your décor.
